JOB SUMMARY: Clemson University's Department of Public Health Science invites applications for a Research Assistant. For the position, we are seeking an experienced programmer.
The programmer will perform a wide array of functions, including (but not limited to) programming, testing, publishing codes, and documentation. The candidate will help finish the documentation and some CQL testing-related work. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES: 40% - Essential - Documentation:
Basic database design and the interaction between web pages and back-end databases.
30% - Essential - Testing:
Working with CQL development and testing.
20% - Essential - Programming:
Work on finishing an NIH-funded R01 project utilizing CDSS Moddule developed for OpenMRS; working JavaScript, Java, PHP, and Python.
10% - Essential - Publishing Codes:
Developing, documenting, and publishing open-source software packages.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education - High School or Equivalent
Work Exp 1+ years
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Education - 1st Master's Degree - Computer Science
Work Exp 3+ years working with CDSS4PCP project
RESPONSIBILITIES JOB KNOWLEDGE
Fundamental Job Knowledge - Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 40% - Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period
WORKING CONDITIONS: 0% -
WORK SCHEDULE: Standard Hrs: 10; Monday-Friday
COMPENSATION INFORMATION Band: G07 (expected range: $ 18.89/hour-$25.00/hour)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL Normal Operations: Required to follow emergency facility closure and modified operations directives, and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
