JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for supporting the administration of the Research Services department and with the provision of retrieval research services and access to resources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Pull cases, dockets, court documents, and respond to other ready reference questions as assigned utilizing the most efficient and cost-effective resources
Procure document retrieval of journal articles, book chapters/sections, and other legal and non-legal documents per the prescribed departmental process
Support large data projects/requests, department initiatives, and other projects as assigned
Provide excellent service to attorneys, management, staff, and other professionals.
Work consistently and effectively in a team environment.
SKILLS NEEDED TO BE SUCESSFUL
Familiarity with the effective use of retrieval resources, including but not limited to, Westlaw, Lexis, LexMachina, Pacer, CourtLink and others
Proficiently utilizes both legal and non-legal research resources as well as internal Firm databases
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with strong working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Responsiveness and demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize competing deadlines
Client service orientation combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail
Ability to work in a collaborative, service-oriented team, yet also independently with minimal supervision
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
College degree required
Some library, law firm or research experience preferred
PHYSICAL EFFORT
Repetitive motions substantial movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers
Crouching, kneeling, standing, climbing, stooping, walking, pushing, pulling and lifting
Talking expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word
Ability to convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately
Hearing ability to receive detailed information through oral communication
Sitting most of the time
LOCATION SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The salary range for this role is $68,000 to $70,000 annually, which is based on a 37.5-hour work week. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Los Angeles . This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs.
