Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Environmental Engineer to join our team at our Elkton, Maryland location. The Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Elkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Description: The Environmental Engineer is responsible for environmental and regulatory compliance. The Environmental Engineer will administer existing policies as well as adhere to and update standards to support regulatory compliance and provide guidance for site operations. The individual will review and monitor metrics and create risk analyses, following EPA as well as state and local government regulatory agency regulations and mandates. The Environmental Engineer will work with internal and external partners that include government entities, contractors, consultants, design, construction, engineering, operations, and other key departments. The Environmental Engineer will work with regulations and policies related to, but not limited to: the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, EPCRA, and RCRA. The Environmental Engineer must have excellent communication skills, environmental regulatory knowledge, risk analysis skills, and experience working with teams for complex and technical projects.
