Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Mechanic to join our maintenance team on the 2nd shift. The role involves performing proactive and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment such as presses, molding machines, and trimmers, with a focus on supporting the automotive and medical fields. Approximately 20% of the time will be dedicated to utilities and facilities work. The position requires a mix of mechanical and electrical expertise to ensure the optimal functioning of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily rounds to check boilers and water systems.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, cleaning, and repairs of machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, switches, relays, contactors, starters, AC/DC drives, and motors.
• Run conduit, wire outlets, breakers, transformers, and lighting.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic/pneumatic valves and cylinders, replacing or repairing as needed.
• Rebuild rack and pinion on presses and replace gears, pulleys, and belts on machines, exhaust fans, and AC units.
• Maintain records, logs, and documentation regarding inspections, testing, maintenance, installation, and repairs.

• Ability to read wiring diagrams and prints.
• Strong hands-on electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with all voltages up to 480.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
• 5+ years of related mechanical and electrical experience within food, beverage, pharma, or chemical industries.

• High School or GED equivalent required.
• Previous hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Licensure in forklift, plumbing, electrical, or boiler operation is a plus.
• Experience and knowledge of HVAC and chiller systems.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs including the person and Siemens.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Work Environment

Our facility operates on multiple shifts with opportunities for overtime. Employees must adhere to safety protocols, including wearing PPE where required. Work involves standing for prolonged periods, frequent bending, kneeling, lifting up to 70 lbs, and pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs. Mechanics may also climb ladders and step stools. Union membership is required, and protective clothing is necessary in certain areas to maintain high product quality.

This is a Permanent position based out of Pennsauken, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $85737.00 - $85737.00/yr.
