job summary:
We're seeking an Estimator for a sheet metal fabricator in the Stratford, CT area to join a growing team. This role focuses on analyzing customer drawings and specifications to calculate material, labor, tooling, and overhead costs.

The ideal candidate will have estimating experience specifically within a sheet metal or fabrication environment.

The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.

Practical knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes and routing.

Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and ERP or MRP software.

responsibilities:
The Estimator reviews RFQs and blueprints to develop detailed cost breakdowns. This includes assessing raw material needs and labor requirements for processes such as laser cutting, turret punching, bending, welding, and assembly.

The role also involves determining manufacturing sequences, obtaining pricing from suppliers for outside services like painting or plating, and using ERP systems to generate quotes.

You will work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure the feasibility and accuracy of every estimate.
