Job Description

Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. At Charter One we pride ourselves on our thorough knowledge of charter school operations, academics, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, and more. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly.


American Leadership Academy-Blythewood Elementary
is now accepting applications for a Part Time AIG Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic school year. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check.


The AIG Teacher will play a pivotal role in fostering a stimulating and challenging learning environment for academically and intellectually gifted students. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative curricula that not only challenge students academically but also inspire their creativity and critical thinking. The AIG Teacher will assess and support the diverse needs of gifted learners, ensuring they are engaged and motivated to reach their full potential. Through collaboration with staff, parents, and the community, the AIG Teacher will advocate for the needs of gifted students and promote a culture of excellence within the school.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Implement differentiated curriculum and instruction that meets the needs of AIG students as aligned to approved lesson plans, including advanced coursework and enrichment activities.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a productive learning atmosphere.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to identify student strengths, areas for growth, and progress toward academic goals; utilize data to inform instruction and provide targeted support.
  • Work closely with classroom teachers, parents, and other staff to develop strategies for supporting gifted students in the regular classroom setting and ensure cohesive learning experiences.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students, helping them set and achieve personal and academic goals; encourage a growth mindset and resilience.
  • Stay current with best practices in gifted education through professional development opportunities and contribute to the development of AIG programs within the school.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress, program initiatives, and resources for gifted learners.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in their academic and personal development.
  • Address and resolve any issues that may affect students’ learning and well-being.
  • Encourage and support student involvement in extracurricular activities and school events.
  • Ensure a safe and secure classroom environment, following school safety protocols and procedures.
  • Adhere to school and district policies, including those related to student health and safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • North Carolina Teaching Certificate with AIG Endorsement
  • Pass applicable background check
  • Submit fingerprints through NCSBI


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field
